A 34-year-old South African man has given new meaning to the
term ‘sleeping on the job’ when he fell asleep soon after allegedly raping a
woman in Cerhu village, near Butterworth in the Eastern Cape, according to the
police.
He was arrested recently after his 51-year-old victim
alerted the police.
Butterworth police station spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha
said the crime was committed in the woman's home. The alleged rapist fell into a restful sleep shortly after, snoring through the night.
"We found the suspect still in deep slumber on our
arrival, and he was woken up by the men in blue," he said.
He will appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court soon to
face a charge of rape.
The whole exercise must have been too exhausting for the
idiot. Lol.
