One-way traffic violating danfo kills one, injures two

A commercial bus (danfo) driver riding against the traffic has killed an albino girl riding on the back of a commercial motorcycle (okada). The incident happened about 12.35 pm on Sunday.



According to Wireless Radio,  who witnessed the incident, the driver was reportedly driving against the traffic along Kudirat Abiola Way when the incident happened. On the opposite lane nearby, activists were marching to commemorate the death of prominent civil rights lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi.

The driver of the danfo reportedly injured two others at Ojota while attempting to escape.

The strong collision threw the victim against the culvert, instantly breaking her right leg and cracking her skull. She died some thirty minutes later according to the police.

The driver has been apprehended and detained at the Alausa Police Station.
