Adenuga gets centenary award for entrepreneurship

Chairman of Nigeria's national telecoms operator, Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr (GCON), has been honoured by the Federal Government of Nigeria for entrepreneurial excellence.

Dr. Adenuga was bestowed with the award in the category of ‘Accomplished Contemporary Entrepreneurs’ on Friday night at the grand finale of the celebrations of the centenary anniversary organized to mark 100 years of the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates of Nigeria.

The Federal Government described Adenuga as a distinguished entrepreneur and renowned employer of labour in Nigeria.

Ninety nine other eminent Nigerians were honored at the event in various categories ranging from "Contributors to the Making of Nigeria" to "Heroes of the Struggle for Nigeria's Independence/Pioneer Political leaders", "Pioneers in Professional Callings/Careers", "Pioneers in Commerce and Industry", "Promoters of Democracy in Nigeria", "Heroes in Global Sports Competition", "Accomplished Pioneer Public Servants", "Accomplished Contemporary Entrepreneurs", "Distinguished Academics", "Internationally  Acclaimed Artists, Literary Icons and Journalists", "Outstanding Bravery and Public Spiritedness", "Outstanding Promoters of Unity, Patriotism and National Development" and "Exemplary Service in the Promotion of Peace and Moral Excellence".

The awardees were officially given their awards at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja.

Nollywood bad boy has got his own reality show tagged: Jim Iyke: Unscripted.

 

From Thursday, April 18, you can catch a glimpse of Iyke’s personal and professional life on  AfricaMagic Entertainment on DSTV.

Apparently, this man will be a playboy till he dies.

Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner has reportedly tied the knot for the third time, marrying a former Playmate 60 years his junior in an intimate New Year's Eve ceremony at the Playboy Mansion.

Hefner, 86, and Crystal Harris, 26, announced the nuptials on their Twitter feeds -- @hughhefner and @crystalhefner -- and posted pictures of the wedding.

"Happy New Year from Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hefner!" Hefner said in a message accompanied by a picture of the octogenarian sporting purple pyjamas and a captain's hat and the blonde Harris in her wedding dress.

Harris posted a picture on her own Twitter feed of the ceremony conducted under an archway of red, pink, purple and white flowers.

"Today is the day I become Mrs Hugh Hefner. Feeling very happy, lucky, and blessed," she tweeted shortly before the wedding.

Hefner and Harris had planned to marry in 2011 but she called off the ceremony at the last minute.

Mike Tyson was "mad as hell" when he caught a then unknown Brad Pitt in bed with his ex-wife Robin Givens during their divorce in the late 80s.

New Kim Kardashian Sex Tape for Sale?!

Kim Kardashian is said to be horrified after a second sex tape starring the socialite in the throes of passion with ex-boyfriend Ray J has allegedly gone on sale.

Kim was catapulted to the Hollywood limelight after her infamous sex tape with Ray J, 33, hit the Internet in 2007. The buxom brunette, 32, even parlayed the media nightmare into a multimillion-dollar reality TV empire. But Kim reportedly fears that yet another raunchy eff flick hitting the open market, could torpedo her career and budding romance with rapper Kanye West.

A loose-lipped informant told Britain’s Daily Star:

“It’s definitely Kim in the video. And it’s even raunchier than her last one. There are all kinds of eye-popping moments. Kim fears this will damage her relationship with Kanye West.”

This is the second time in three months that Kimye — as the celebrity twosome is affectionately called — has faced a sex tape scandal. Last summer, at least two x-rated videos featuring Kanye sexing up a Kim K lookalike were swiped from the star’s computer and shopped to the highest bidder.

Mike Tyson's chequered past has come back to haunt him as his visa to New Zealand where he is to perform a one-man show has been cancelled just a day after it was issued. His promoter however says he's not giving up on this one quite yet.

Mike Tyson's visa  application was supported by a letter of recommendation purportedly written by Life Education Trust (LET). However, LET has withdrawn the letter, claiming that it was written by a volunteer who was not authorised to do such a thing in the first place.

New Zealand bans anyone from obtaining a visa if they have been sentenced to prison sentences of five years or more. Tyson served three years of a six-year sentence for his 1992 conviction. The visit by Tyson has been in the New Zealand media for weeks, and Prime Minister John Key opposed granting the visa.

Tyson, who spent time in jail after a 1992 rape conviction, was granted a special visa but the Associate Immigration Minister Kate Wilkinson overturned the decision to allow him into the country.  

Max Markson, the promoter behind the visit, says he's hoping to get the visa reissued.  “It would be a tragedy if Mike Tyson could not come to New Zealand to do his show,” he said, adding, “We'll see if we can get a visa issued again. They've issued it once, hopefully it might be issued again.”

Markson has previously arranged New Zealand appearances by President Clinton and Tony Blair, so he's got some experience in making big appearances happen. Tickets to the event are still on sale and platinum tickets are priced at $395.

Mike Tyson was due to arrive in New Zealand Nov. 15. Some say that he has done his time and reformed himself, so the conviction from 20 years ago should not impact his ability to get a visa.

Prior to the news that Tyson's visa was cancelled, he mentioned he was looking forward to the trip. He shared, “Fortunately, I am coming to New Zealand and there's nothing they can do about it and I'm so sorry, I'm sorry they feel disappointed and I'm just living my life.” So far Tyson hasn't commented publicly on the visa cancellation.

Perhaps, here finally is why Kim Kardashian cannot get enough of rapper, Kanye West. A new sex video just emerging shows that the superstar is a 'marathoner'. 

The rapper is facing more embarrassment as another X-rated video is allegedly being shopped around which shows him participating in a 40-minute lovemaking session with a beautiful brunette.

Kanye was "freaking out" after the first tape emerged last week, featuring him and girl who looks like his current girlfriend Kim Kardashian, and this second recording is double in length.

TMZ.com reported: "Both tapes are impressively long - the first is roughly 20 minutes and the second is more than 40.

"And we're talking constant action. Seriously, the guy takes no breaks. It's incredible."

Both tapes were made before he started dating 31-year-old Kim - who was catapulted to fame after becoming the unwitting star of her own sex tape in 2007 when her ex-boyfriend Ray J released the recording.

The 'Stronger' hitmaker has called in his lawyers to stop any footage of the tapes from being released, and it is believed the material has been stolen from his personal computer.  

With regard to the first tape, his lawyer Lisa Buckley released a statement confirming it is Kanye in the video and warning against any party distributing images or clips from it.

She said: "Your posting, advertising, marketing, displaying and otherwise disseminating the stolen screen shot and/or other materials on the tape constitute actionable violations of Mr West's rights of privacy and publicity".

Former escort, Jenny Thompson, has revealed she is six months pregnant but she will have to do a DNA test to know the father of the baby out of about five men she met around the likely time of conception.

Former escort Jenny Thompson, has had sexual liaisons with famous men, including Manchester United star Wayne Rooney, and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

But it is claimed Miss Thompson, 23, who admits sleeping with more than 100 men, said she will have to take a DNA test to confirm the identity of the father.

The former vice girl, who claimed she bedded Manchester United star Rooney while his wife Coleen was five months pregnant with their son Kai, is already six months pregnant.

She told The Sun newspaper: ‘Quite a few men will be trying to work out if it is them.’

She also admitted it ‘made her laugh’ to think different men would be trying to decide if they were the father.
 

Her baby girl is due on Christmas Day. A Sun newspaper source said the mother-to-be believed the father was one of five possible candidates.
 

She said Balotelli surpassed Rooney in 'every way' but that he also impressed her with his intelligence and sense of humour.

Daily Mail reports that she said she did a pregnancy test two months ago after feeling ‘bloated’, but it came back negative.

It was only when she went to her GP after she had grown bigger that she was given the shocking news.

 Miss Thompson, who signed up to an escort agency at the age of 19 under the name ‘Juicy Jeni’, claimed Rooney slipped away from his £4.5million mansion in Cheshire to meet her at Manchester’s five-star Lowry Hotel seven times – including for a threesome with fellow prostitute Helen Wood, 25.

 
As the alleged sexual liaison happened in 2009, Rooney cannot be the father of Miss Thompson's unborn child.

The biological parents of the Paralympic swimming sensation, Jessica Long who won five gold medals at the London 2o12 event have shown up, following her victory and celebration.

The Siberian parents rejected heroic Jessica Long as a new born baby.

Until a few days ago they had no idea that the 20-year-old record-breaking swimmer was the disabled child they gave up to an orphanage as teenage parents.

Her biological Russian family had even watched her on TV at the 2012 Paralympics without knowing who she was.

Jessica was adopted aged one by American couple Beth and Steve Long from an orphanage in Bratsk, some 2,350 miles east of Moscow, and she grew up in Baltimore, Maryland.

Born without fibulas, ankles, heels, and most of bones in her feet, Jessica's lower legs were amputated when she was just 18 months old and she soon learned to walk with prostheses.

Her adoptive parents showered her with love and enabled her to reach remarkable heights, she has become one of the United States' most inspirational sportswomen having won a dozen gold medals in three Paralympics.

After her latest clutch of golds in London, Russian journalists tracked down the Siberian parents Natalya and Oleg Valtyshev of Jessica Long, who on Friday was one of the Olympian and Paralympian stars hosted at a White House reception by President Barack Obama.

Deeply emotional, Natalia, now 38, Jessica's real mother, stumbled as she tried to find the words to explain on Russian television how she felt two decades ago, at the age of 18, after giving birth to a seriously disabled daughter, reported The Siberian Times.

'I feel so sorry,' she said. 'At that time - there was some fear, I got scared. I had to leave her behind. But I did think that I would take her back.

'Of course I was against leaving her in the hospital but because of the circumstances we had to do so. In my heart I did want to take her home, and thought I would take her back later.'

She stressed: 'I was alone in Siberia, without my mother and father. Where would I go with her, if I had taken her? Doctors told me to leave her behind - said that I could not help her... I called her Tatiana, after my elder sister.'

Her then boyfriend - now her husband - said the couple felt pressurized by doctors to make the decision to give her up. He was only 17 when she was born, and the couple - who have since had three more children including another disabled daughter, Dasha, 13, born with a similar condition to Jessica, who they care for at their village home.

'What could I have said? I couldn't say anything because I was not ready for this. I was very shocked with the whole thing,' he says now.

'I don't want to say anything bad about the doctors. They said: "The girl has deformities and you are young, it's going to be hard".'

He recalls that 'of course' he and Natalia wanted to take little Tatiana (now Jessica) home, but seemed to find recalling this moment too painful to find words to explain it fully.

He did, though, express his deep pride over Jessica's life and achievements in America, and very much wishes to meet a daughter he only even saw for a few minutes in the maternity hospital.

'Of course I'm happy that we found her, glad for her and I am proud. And of course I want to meet her,' he said.

Natalia said she was convinced she would be able to go back for Jessica later, despite signing away her parental rights in the days after her baby's birth.

'On 6 July 1993 I gave birth to my second daughter Nastya, and on the 9 July American parents adopted her,' she said.

'Babies are normally kept in the baby orphanage until the age of three, and I was sure nobody would adopt her. I was getting information about my daughter, that she was growing up pretty, that everybody loves her.

'And then I got information that she was being adopted to America.'

That Natalia suffered emotional turmoil over what happened is clear from a story Jessica's real-life sister Nastya - or Anastasia - has told.

When she was eight, Natalia confessed to her that she had an older sister who no longer lived with them. Nastya - now 19 - said her mother was too traumatized to speak about the missing child further.

'I was very surprised. Mama said that she was very beautiful. She said that it was hard for her to talk about it, and I should not ask questions. But sometimes I thought of her. I thought that when I grow older and get a job, maybe I'll find her,' she said.

It emerges that before giving her up Natalia named her Tatiana, after her own sister. Her name was changed to Jessica in the US, but the swimmer's real-life aunt - Tatiana Rusanova, who had watched her in the Paralympics, not knowing her true identity - defended Natalia over giving up her disabled child.

'I want to support my sister. Our lives were difficult. Our fate took us in different directions. Natalia was 15 when she had to go to Irkutsk region. I stayed in Kursk region. We lived a poor life. We had a stepfather. Our mother liked to drink vodka.

'Natalia was like an orphan. There was nobody around to help her. She wrote to us, telling us she had given birth to a disabled baby girl. We worried about her. We did not hope for anything good.'

Jessica's feelings on the discovery of her Siberian family are not known, but she has been quoted saying: 'I would like to go to Russia just after the Paralympics to find my Mom. I don't know anything about her besides the fact that her name is Natalia and she was 16 when she left me in the Irkutsk orphanage.

'I'm not angry with her. I just want to meet her. I think we have a lot in common. I know that one day I will have a family and I will have kids, and you know what, I would like to call my daughter Natalia, the name of my Russian mother who gave birth to me.'

At the weekend she Tweeted: 'Thank you for all the love and support from Russia!'

But it is not known if this relates to the discovery of her family or something else.

She has spoken frequently about her Russian background once saying: 'Who would have ever imagined that a girl with a "disability" from an orphanage in Siberia would be where I am today? I'm living proof that you can accomplish your dreams, no matter how great or small.'
